Master Energy Science and Technology
The Master's degree programme Energy Science and Technology is inspired by the need for solutions to tackle the challenges the world will be facing in realizing a sustainable energy system, i.e. environmentally friendly, reliable, of low risk, economically viable, socially compatible, and resilient in the face of natural risks. The many aspects involved in this task need to be addressed comprehensively, be they technical, environmental, economic, societal or political.
The aim of this Master’s degree programme is to acquaint students with the complexity and inter-divisional variety of issues relating to energy and equip them with the ability to develop future sustainable energy systems. Methods and approaches are taught by a wealth of ETH departments including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental sciences and economics.
With the help of a tutor, students draw up their own curriculum, selecting from over 50 energy-specific courses. An industrial internship and a semester project complete the studies.
