Peter Bühlmann elected to the Leopoldina
Peter Bühlmann, Professor of Statistics at the Department of Mathematics, has been elected to the Leopoldina, Germany's National Academy of Sciences.
Peter Bühlmann is Professor at the Seminar for Statistics, and Director of ETH Foundations of Data Science. He conducts research in the fields of high-?dimensional and computational statistics, machine learning, causal inference and interdisciplinary applications in biology and medicine.
About the Leopoldina
The Leopoldina is one of the world's oldest scientific societies. Founded in 1652, it unites researchers with outstanding expertise in their respective fields, currently counting around 1,600 Academy members from over 30 countries. Election to the Academy is carried out in a multi-stage selection process and admission criteria are outstanding scientific achievements. All members are actively involved in the work of the Leopoldina.
