Taking our pulse: what are our shared values?
We’re asking members of the ETH community to express their opinions in a short survey on the values that shape – or should shape – the work we do together. The results will form the basis for a wide-ranging examination of ETH’s culture in the coming year.
The Executive Board launched the rETHink organisational development project to ensure ETH Zurich continues along its successful path for the next 20 years. On the one hand, this requires responding to changing expectations and the overall climate outside ETH. On the other hand, the structures and processes also require a rethink in light of the growth our university has experienced in recent years.
Some things will change. What will remain the same, however, is the fact that our university’s future success depends on the outstanding efforts of all members of the ETH community. And these efforts are shaped fundamentally by the culture and values we share. In the coming year, we hope that every member of the university community will reflect upon and discuss these values.
You are invited to join this conversation in early 2021. To set the tone and lay the groundwork for this discussion, we want to take the pulse of ETH and the university community – to get a sense of the mood on the ground and find out what people think. To address as many aspects as possible, ETH President Jo?l Mesot and Rector Sarah Springman would be grateful if all members of the ETH community took the survey and shared their views on ETH’s values. And those of you who still have more to say beyond the scope of the survey form will also have the opportunity to write a blog post.
Our values: where are we?
The survey takes about 15 minutes. Please complete it by Friday, 18 December 2020 (*the survey has been extended until Sunday, January 31, 2021).
The responses will be evaluated in January. The results will be announced in “Internal news” in February 2021.
You will also have the opportunity to express your opinions on ETH’s culture and values in a blog post. More information is available here.
