The world of artificial intelligence is developing rapidly and opening new opportunities and challenges in everyday work. With the “AI Upskilling” programme, ETH offers all employees the opportunity to deepen their skills and gain confidence in dealing with AI. The programme is open to all employees. However, the Executive Board specifically encourages managers to take a pioneering role and stimulate exchange and critical thinking in their teams.
Lunchtime events and self-study programme
In order to promote the conscious and responsible use of AI at ETH, lunchtime events will take place regularly in the autumn semester of 2024. For 60 minutes each, experts provide input on practical applications, tools, how LLMs (Large Language Models) work, ethical considerations, IT security and other topics, thus getting to the heart of how to use AI in an understandable and practical way.
In addition to the lunchtime events, all employees now have access to the “AI Upskilling” self-learning programme on Sharepoint. Here, learning units use examples to show how prompting works and for which tasks AI is helpful. In addition, limits of AI applications and ethical considerations are highlighted and current articles on AI are regularly published. Recordings of the lunchtime events are also available. The SharePoint site can be used at any time and at your own pace.

Kick-off event on 18.09.2024
Mindfulness is a conscious form of attention. In everyday digital work, it can help you find moments of calm and not lose focus. When practiced regularly, mindfulness can lead to stress reduction and resilience as well as promote critical thinking. These skills are also relevant when dealing with artificial intelligence. On 18 September 2024, ETH will offer all employees a pilot workshop on the new mindfulness learning programme, which is available on Sharepoint.
Please note: the course is held in German.
