With this award, the ASME recognises his outstanding and lifelong contributions in the field of nonlinear dynamics. The award ceremony will take place in August at the International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Control (MSNDC) in Anaheim, California.
Haller develops mathematical methods for the precise modeling of solids, fluids and control systems. His research focuses on non-linear dynamical systems, including mechanical vibrations, turbulence and model reduction. Before joining ETH Zurich, he taught at Brown, McGill and MIT and was the founding director of the Morgan Stanley Fixed Income Modeling Center.
