Gastronomy: Canteen price adjustments in response to inflation
Not only is inflation having an impact on our heating bills, grocery shopping and the price of eating out – it is also driving up the costs faced by our community catering services. The ETH Executive Board has had no other choice but to agree to price increases across its catering operations.
A further rise in satisfaction with our catering facilities
The guests of the restaurants and canteens at ETH Zurich have awarded our catering facilities even higher ratings than in the last guest survey conducted in 2017. More people took part than ever before. Some of them would still like to see improvements in prices and in the range of food on offer. ?
Support the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad
The International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) will take place for the first time in Switzerland and at ETH Zurich from 16 to 25 July 2023. Helpers are being sought for this major event.
ETH Zurich implements initial energy-saving measures
ETH Zurich has launched a first round of measures to reduce its gas and energy consumption and avoid an energy shortage. These measures concern the room temperature in the buildings, the hot water and the lighting.
Veggie Week at ETH
With World Vegetarian Day coming up this Saturday, ETH Zurich will be celebrating Veggie Week until Friday, 30 September, with vegetarian delicacies at our campus restaurants. Trying new things is encouraged!
Gastronomy: Price adjustments in ETH restaurants
The prices for the basic menus at ETH Zurich haven’t changed since 2008. Now they are being adjusted for the start of the semester. This is due in particular to higher food and transport prices.?
ETH Zurich closes university buildings – in-person exams will go ahead
Following the latest measures announced by the Federal Council, all ETH members must work remotely from home as of Monday. The only exceptions are for experimental work, workshops or other activities requiring on-site presence. University buildings will mostly be closed, with a few exceptions. The exam session is still going ahead as planned from 25 January onwards, with some exams sat in person.
Graphic novels – far-off worlds and ominous-looking cities
Architecture and graphic novels – do the two really go together? Of course! Graphic novels combine art, literature and architecture. Visual representations depict travel through futuristic worlds, adventures in ominous-looking cities or lonely life in a megalopolis.
Round-the-clock catering
At the start of the semester, an “avec box” will open for business at the HIL building on the H?nggerberg campus. For two months, a shop format without checkouts will be tested that enables everyday products to be bought around the clock. Customers can pay via app.
Asian cuisine tailored to your personal tastes
On 3 April 2018, Rice Up! will open in the HIT building on the H?nggerberg campus. It marks the first time that a public catering restaurant has been introduced to ETH Zurich. Its range focuses on bowls created in line with the motto “mix it your way!”.
Changes to catering services
Restaurant WOKA is closing, but will soon open its doors again under a new name after slight alterations. There are also new features planned for the foodLAB in CAB, the bistro in the CHN building and the Dozentenfoyer in the main building.
ASVZ Welcome Days
The Academic Sports Association Zurich (ASVZ) welcomes all new and returned students with the ?ASVZ Welcome Days? from 30.9. to 2.10.2016.
Completion of the new dining facilities is delayed
The new food market in the HPR building on the H?nggerberg campus will open in May this year. The serviced ‘Bella Vista’ restaurant will open later in the year in the new HGP building.
