Learn German in one year
An intensive German course enables ETH Zurich doctoral students to communicate in German within just one year. Registration for the course is open from 30 May to 14 July 2016.
Teaching is one of the key responsibilities of doctoral students and research staff at ETH Zurich. Working in cooperation with the joint Language Center of ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, ETH Zurich offers an intensive course in German as a foreign language to help ensure that a lack of German language skills do not form a barrier in everyday life at the university.
In just one year, course participants acquire the necessary language skills to be able to communicate in German about their academic work and everyday activities, while also laying the foundations for their own teaching in German.
ETH doctoral students can register for the intensive German course from 30 May to 14 July 2016. The course starts on 15 August 2016 and includes two two-week intensive courses in August 2016 and January 2017, as well as 56 lessons in the autumn 2016 semester and 56 lessons in the spring semester of 2017. The course fee is 2,650 Swiss francs. However, ETH doctoral students will get currently a subsidy by the Rectorate. Hence they have to pay only 1,750 Swiss francs.
