Study programme "Food Science and Nutrition"
In the autumn semester 2024, the time has come: the redesigned programmes of the revised regulations for the Bachelor's and Master's will start on the first day of the semester on 16 September 2024. The redesigned programmes are accompanied by a new name: “Food Science” becomes “Food Science and Nutrition”.
Students who started their studies in FS 2024 or earlier will remain under the previous regulations and continue to study under the name “Food Science”. All new entrants - both new Bachelor's students and all internal and external Master's students starting the Master's programme in HS 2024 - will study under the new name “Food Science and Nutrition”.
Important changes are:
- The first-year examination is now taken in two blocks
- In the second year, only one examination block has to be taken instead of two as before
- The Master's programme now offers two majors instead of previously four:
- Food Science and Technology
- Nutrition and Health
- Food Science and Technology
In accordance with the different regulations, there are now two different study guides. Students are asked to pay close attention to which guide they follow:
