Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Energy Science and Technology or Chemical/Process Engineering*

The Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (www.mavt.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned position.

The new professor is expected to demonstrate outstanding accomplishments and future potential in the area of energy science and technology or chemical/process engineering. We particularly encourage the application of candidates with a proven track record in the areas of (i) interface and surface science/engineering with applications e.g. in heat and mass transfer or for multiphase/multispecies thermochemical processes, (ii) materials engineering with applications e.g. in energy conversion/storage, chemical reactions, separations or (iii) the advancement of material functionalities relevant for the energy and chemical industries.

Successful candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in engineering or related areas and be capable of establishing an ambitious, world-class research program in energy science and technology or chemical/process engineering. Furthermore, a strong motivation and indisputable commitment to undergraduate (in German or English) and graduate (in English) student teaching and the ability to lead a research group are expected.

Assistant professorships have been established to promote the careers of younger scientists. ETH Zurich implements a tenure track system equivalent to that of other top international universities.
