Industrial Energy Systems

Based on current research projects processes for hydrogen production and methanation are investigated under real conditions using the THI laboratory biogas plant.

Research projects within the field of Industrial Energy Systems are focused on sustainable energy production from renewable raw materials in both, national and international contexts.
The projects are dedicated mainly to plant technology of wood-fired power stations and biogas plants, as well as hydrogen supply / untilisation and supply infrastructures for the (electro-) mobility sector. Based on computer-based simulations and in-situ measurements on those plants research activities deal with various questions concerning components optimization and demand-driven production of energy.
