Eva Schewior, President of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, was invited to the kick-off event on 19 October 2023, which was entitled "Innovation Booster IP". In her presentation on "Technology trends and news from the DPMA", President Schewior explained the extent to which innovations guarantee economic growth. President Schewior was very positive about the cooperation with THI: "I am delighted that we can intensify this cooperation with the Master's degree programme in Patent Engineering and I am convinced that this degree programme is a great enrichment for the innovation landscape".
In the subsequent practical report on "IP management for SMEs and start-ups" by Prof Dr Martin Bader, he addressed, among other things, the criteria that investors pay particular attention to in start-ups. In particular, the "weighing up of resources" and the team concept are important topics in the start-up process.
The kick-off event was broadcast live from the THI and offered participants the opportunity to ask questions. Those interested in IP were able to follow the stream live or can still access the recording via the link on the Ingolstadt Patent Talks homepage.#
The next event in the series will take place on 21 December 2023. The topic is "The new European patent system". Prof. Dr Sabine Boos, Heilbronn University, will give an update on the basics of the Unitary Patent System and Dr Tobias Wuttke, BARDEHLE PAGENBERG, will speak on the question: "What impact does the new Unified Patent Court have on German industry". No registration is required for the event. Further information can be found at: /elektro-und-informationstechnik/ingolstaedter-patentgespraeche/
